Crayon Coloring Technique For Kids

Bored with he same old crayons and blank paper? Try this simple technique to spice up your everyday Art time. Bind your entire box of crayons (we used a fresh 16 count box) with a rubberband and let your kidlets color with it, watching what happens when their colors swirl together! They will have a blast and it will be a break from the norm, which we all know can be a good thing if you are inside for awhile. Below is a photo of the art in motion!

  1. Great idea! We'll have to try it tomorrow!

Just another idea....We broke up some old crayons and melted them in an old muffin tin....let them cool than colored away. My daughter loved it!

  7. This is one of those activities that helps kids figure out angles for writing and works their hand muscles. If they have trouble keeping all the crayons on the page you can try using fewer but fatter crayons and a really, really strong rubber band. And I think it's just plain fun. When the kids are older and not pressing so hard, markers are fun too.

Thanks for reminding me of this simple but fun art activity!

  8. Great idea - my daughter loves coloring with more than one crayon at once like this, but I never thought of sticking a rubber band around them to hold them together for her.
