Such simple things to be left but with wonderful memories attached they are irreplaceable. Enjoy them for many years to come.
Here from SITS. Great blog. What a blessing to have something that obviously meant alot to your mom. Have a great day. :)
Michelle, I love the scissors. When my grandmother died, I got her sewing box and her recipe box. Both of which I vividly remember sitting next to while watching her work her magic. I love baking things that SHE baked...and reading the recipe that SHE wrote. Many times, I don't even need the recipe, but I'll take it out. It's almost like it's her sitting watching ME bake now.So glad you have some special memories and momentos of Mom.

My mom has a pair of sewing scissors I'd love to have someday to remember her. Growing up she spent hours sewing with me playing by her side.~ Wendy

Happy SITS day! Off to read - muffin tin monday has me intrigued!
Too true - crafting is therapy! What an awesome memento from your mom :)
I agree with the therapy! That's what I love it for....although sometimes I get so wrapped up it's not less stressful. And I'm stopping by from SITS. I must tell you that I absolutely LOVE your Muffin Tin Mondays! I think I may have to join in.
Wow, what a beautiful thing to have to hold onto........ I love that she wrote therapy..... Sounds like your mother found humor & joy in the small things in life that so many of us take for granted ...
Hi michelle, stopping by from sits and this photo is the bomb. I totally understand it with a passion. I had to give you a follow.I got my Grandmothers sewing basket, not a normal sewing basket or a average Grandma but for Mothers day a couple of years ago I made a crazy small quilt with a photo of Mom and I in it with all the trims and things from that basket, mom loves it.Cheers to you and blessings.Brittanyhttp://www.papermoonies.blogspot.com
Love the photo! That's a beautiful thought.
Nice.I, too, have sentimental scissors -- my MIL specifically gave them to me (instead of the other 7 DIL's)before passing away. Each time I use them I feel her hand in mine as I ask her for guidance. She was an accomplished home seamstress, and wish I'd had more time to learn from her.--One tip:Get a mini padlock (they keep the scissors locked shut) to secure those gems if you have people in your home that think scissors are all purpose tools. Let's just say I've learned that lesson.
Completely understood, I only wish I had more time in 'therapy'!Happy FB day!
Oh, this is SO VERY special!!Who would have thought that something as simple as a pair of scissors would be SO PRICELESS!!Jill from The Glen
I love that...here from SITS!
i am a big fan of handwriting- that each person has their own style and if you were to get something in your mailbox that was hand addressed, you would probably know who it was from immediately. what a gift that you have these scissors... and a treasure from your Mom.
that's so amazing...i love that we can touch something that our loved ones touched even though they may no longer be with us. that small, tangible something is so significant.
How fun that your mom left you her crafting supplies. A great way to feel close to her and craft at the same time.
That is so funny! Just today I blogged about being bitten with the Craft Bug with the birth of my baby. Yesterday I made her bows for the first time and I even made her a tutu! It is a mother thing. It is a the-ra-py thing!
Happy Sits Day!! It is very special to have something special from your mom's crafting supplies. I have my great-grandmother's sewing machine. It doesn't work any more but I keep it in the room to remind me of the gifts that my grandmother passed down from generation to generation.
I know you will cherish those crafting supplies forever.
Totally understand, and love the photo.Enjoy your gift..those are the best kind!Hugs
Stopping by from SITS! Looking forward to browsing around! :)
That is a real treasure!Happy SITS day.
Love the photo but I am not a crafty person!!! I need therapy after trying to do something crafty!!!! Haha!!!!
What an amazing treasure.Congrats on your SITS day!
That is so sweet. What a little reminder of such a special person.
Congrats on your SITS day!! Cute blog!
Happy SITS day--your wordless Wednesday is very touching. I also love the muffin tin Mondays--but mine are too big now--it would have to be vat Mondays to fill them up!
happy SITS day. what a beautiful memory!
I agree! Amen Sista!The Buzz,Brandy
I think it's awesome that you and your mom were able to share in crafting time. And that something small means so much :)Happy SITS day...just became a follower today ;)
I so completely understand. The loss of Momma created a void that will never be filled; however, her sweet memory lives within my heart.Happy happy SITS Day to you!
happy SITS day. what a great memento
Came to say hi from SITS. The scissors are a gem. Enjoy your day being featured!!
Happy Feature Day Michelle!!! I'm so excited for you, you know I love your blog ;) Enjoy your day hun!
Very sweet. :o)
Happy SITS Day!
Happy SITS day! What a wonderful way to remember your Mom. Doing something you both loved and using her tools to do it. I have a crochet hook that my Nana gave to me and I cherish it!
This almost made me tear up. I thought that was so sweet. And how nice you and your mom share the same crafting interests. I'm sure it brings back wonderful memories everytime you use them.
Happy sits day! That's great that you have your mom's supplies...I often look at handwriting on things from of my grandma's and get teary eyed.
There is something about using a loved ones tools that is so special. It's like passing on a bit of their creative spirit. I love how she wrote therapy on them.
I understand completely...the very same reason I have a pair of my dads cowboy boots.
How cool that you get to use your mom's supplies for your work! A blessing indeed! Happy SITS day!
You don't need to be an artist to understand that photo at all. Nice pic and sentiment.
LOL! I am not too crafty but even I understand the "therapy."
Happy SITs Day!I love the scissors.
It's funny how something so simple can have such great meaning. I have my Beloved Mother's tin 1/4 cup measuring cup she used to measure sugar for her sweet tea. Every time I use it I feel so close to her.
Ooh my mom has the best craft scissors. Isn't everything that belongs to our moms better than what we could get. Hm. Congrats on being featured!
oh soooo true.....what a wonderful..pair of scissors...and so special....Congrats on being the FB today...Love your blog
I totally understand. I have all of my grandmother's sewing things - she passed in 1987. Even tho I don't sew that much anymore, when I do, it's such a comfort to "feel" her with me.Colleen
This is really sweet. I am just scratching the surface of what crafting is all about. I just got a sewing machine and have to figure out how to use the darn thing, lol!Visiting from SITS. Congrats on your FB day!!
yes! therapy and my at home vacation.stoppin by from SITS!Dawn
I totally concur.
New here from SITS. Love that the scissors have the word "therapy" on them. There is nothing more therapeutic than cutting and creating things. So neat that it's in her handwriting, too.
So amazing to keep these with you. It's such a differnet feeling to use 97 cent scissors from your crast store than your own moms. Could even be the same scissors, but the ones that have meaning seem to being out the more crafty side in us.
What a gift of love. Wonderful the things we hold dear.
