Card Worthy Family Photos

It was the Summer of 2008. We were on vacation with my husbands entire extended family. We were visiting family at their home in rural Pennsylvania and stopped for a quick family photo. I remember how much fun we were having on that trip. I remember how I felt that day, happy and loved. Lately, our family photos are made up of smaller snippets of time. I find myself capturing stolen moments over hot cocoa or a quick snapshot while walking on the beach (like the one below). Still happy and loved. That's a photo that is "card worthy" to me - one that you can look back on remember not just a photo session or what happened, but how you felt.

Recently, I was invited to a dinner compliments of Shutterfly. They want to spread the word about their new Family Photo Day website and fun photo contest. My mother-in-law just ordered her Christmas cards from Shutterfly. I couldn't believe how seamless and easy the process was and there are so many ways to personalize the card! At the dinner, guests were able to bring samples of photo books, holiday cards, and fun gift ideas. My friend Jessica of Life As Mom brought a photo book of her families recent trip to Mammoth, CA. She talked about Shutterfly's easy to use auto-fill feature for busy families. You press a button and presto: Shutterfly auto fills the page with your photos.

Last night, I discovered that Shutterfly also has a fabulous Instagram integration. You can upload photos from Instagram to Shutterfly right from the convenience of your smartphone or tablet (I was on my ipad perusing the holiday cards when it gave me the option to upload from instagram - swee, right?). Gift-giving on the go!

In fact, you can start right now. You can click over to Shutterfly, upload your most card worthy photo, and create a personalized photo gift or holiday card full of cherished memories.

You can also connect with Shutterfly on a wide variety of Social Media platforms:

Tight on funds this year? Myself and several of my fellow dinner guests and friends are
giving away $50 each in Shutterfly online credit! Woohoo!

Simply leave a blog comment telling me one special card worthy moment this fall or anything else you want to share. Once you have done that, enter the giveaway for the $50 on Shutterfly by filling out the rafflecopter form letting me know you commented. The winner will be randomly drawn through rafflecopter on Sunday December 2nd at 10am. There is no purchase necessary.

  1. My 5 year old son, standing in front of a tree completely lit up by green Christmas lights (his "bestest" favorite color) and sticking his tongue out the side of his mouth instead of smiling. What a great giveaway! I love Shutterfly!

  8. Card-worthy moment - one happened in August for us, when we were able to get a wonderful group photo of our family with in-laws and great grandparents. If you don't capture moments, later some loved ones will be gone and you'll be sad you didn't capture it.

  9. Making Gingerbread Houses with the kids! I'm actually proud of myself for getting some of my Christmas traditions done already instead of being mad at myself on December 26th that I didn't!
