Connor turns One

Today, Trevor and I went to Connor's First Birthday Party. His mom, Wendy, threw a really nice birthday bash for him. It was a "bug" theme and the decorations were so adorable! She had a lot of good ideas for her party that I might steal. She was so creative! i don't want to steal any of the creative ideas, because I want those to be hers. But the practical stuff is a must have! Like the play area for kiddos, the way she transitioned from presents to cake, etc., and how she served Connor his cake (a la birthday suit). Some of the neat things she did for the party were "bug" cakes- a spider, a lady bug and an ant hill. Soooooo cute! And then she did a "see how i've grown" catapillar collage of his first 12 months. again, sooooo cute! And then she totally outdid herself with party favors for the kiddos-which were handmade bibs for each baby (I think there were five) with their names on the front!! Holey-Moley! I felt so honored to be a guest there! We had a great time! Kya loved being around all the babies. We are going to have to work on her sharing skills-she kept hogging the activity table!

Her birthday party is coming along. There are a few things that I am not sure are going to get finished before the big day...but all is good if I keep at it!

  1. I think one of the best MOPS I went to was the one on entertaining - and one of the things they said was don't be a afraid to steal other people's ideas, and if someone "steals" yours, you should fee honored! =) Glad you all had fun!

  2. Happy Birthday to Kya!
