Bored with he same old crayons and blank paper? Try this simple technique to spice up your everyday Art time. Bind your entire box of crayons (we used a fresh 16 count box) with a rubberband and let your kidlets color with it, watching what happens when their colors swirl together!

They will have a blast and it will be a break from the norm, which we all know can be a good thing if you are inside for awhile. Below is a photo of the art in motion!

Great idea! We'll have to try it tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteJust another idea....We broke up some old crayons and melted them in an old muffin tin....let them cool than colored away. My daughter loved it!
Fun! I love fresh, new crayons... :)
ReplyDeleteNeat idea. I have a budding artist over here who will LOVE this idea! We'll do it tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!
Simple, yet fun. Thanks for all your great ideas!
ReplyDeletelove it. my kiddos are trying to hold three crayons at a time already anyways!
ReplyDeletefun!:) and it makes a neat rainbow effect!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those activities that helps kids figure out angles for writing and works their hand muscles. If they have trouble keeping all the crayons on the page you can try using fewer but fatter crayons and a really, really strong rubber band. And I think it's just plain fun. When the kids are older and not pressing so hard, markers are fun too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me of this simple but fun art activity!
Great idea - my daughter loves coloring with more than one crayon at once like this, but I never thought of sticking a rubber band around them to hold them together for her.
