Sound Bingo!

Even though we are enjoying the summer time here in Southern California, we are always on the look out for fun and educational games! I had been wanting to play sound bingo at home ever since we played it at Preschool in the spring! I was able to find this great version of Sound Bingo and I knew I wanted to share it with you! Premade Sound Bingo Cards can be found and downloaded for free here.
I laminated them for extra durability. I printed them out on blue cardstock ('cause that's what I had the most of-32 cards total).

I gathered small game pieces from an old board game (they look like tiddlywinks, don't they?) to use as markers-you'll need six per person playing. With 32 cards, you can have a lot of participants!

The original game tells you to download all the sounds onto a disk and set your CD player to random. I was a little hasty in wanting to play this game, so I just brought the laptop to the table and manually clicked on each sound (I tried to make it as random as possible.)

The kids loved it and want to do it again! I will definitely have to burn a CD then, so they can run it themselves! At least 2 out of the 3 times they will want to play each day.
**Hint: Do a little "sound test" before you begin to go through what each sound is. This helped them get acqainted with each sound (there is both a race car and a regular car, which confused the kids at first, but once I explained it-they seemed to understand).

  1. This "sounds" so cute ;-) I'll bet my toddler would love this! She's so into sounds right now. She's always asking me "Mommy, what's that noise?" I only wish I could answer more often.

  2. That is such a cute idea! I love it!

  3. This looks like a great game! Thanks for sharing this and how to get it!

  4. This is such a great idea! My son would love playing this game. Thanks for sharing!

  5. That is so cool! Maybe we can do that for our next playdate? C would love it :)

  6. Laminating is definitely the way to go when printing games and things.

    Thanks for the links.

  7. Wonderful idea!

We did wildlife bingo at one point that had sounds and nature critters in it. I had our class play it outside and they were running around quietly for about an hour filling up all the squares! Bingo is def super fun!

  8. Nice game you have mention here its looking cool. Thanks to share with us.
